Merlot

Merlot is an international black berried grape of French origin which owes its name to the particular predilection blackbirds have for its fruit. First planted in the Gironde area, it initially spread all over France, making its fortune in the Bordeaux area, and subsequently all over the world thanks to its strong adaptability to different environments. Wines produced with this grape are characterized for being very versatile and usually of great prestige.
